The Art of Succulent Bonsai: Create Your Own Living Sculpture
Bonsai is simply an artistic plant in a pot that can evoke, inspire and create a moment of abandon. Indoor bonsai is the art of inviting the nature in by planting trees from warm climates indoors. Many warm climates experience extended droughts with the trees going without water for months. These exotic, intriguing and picturesque trees are called succulent, xeric and caudiciform and are known as "fat plants" for their swollen and sculptural trunks.

In this course you will learn the art of designing, planting and maintaining bonsai. The first class meeting will cover ideas and techniques, which will develop over the class series. You will create a forest planting using a variety of bonsai cuttings, as well as one fat plant bonsai in a ceramic pot. Choose from a variety of mature and impressive plants that can be enjoyed for years to come. The course includes all plants, pots, and materials for creating two of your own living sculptures.
